# Privacy Policy - Pool Chem

## Overview

Pool Chem ("the App") is a pool water chemistry calculator and test log developed by WittyApps. This policy explains what information the App handles and how.

## Information We Collect

The App is designed to keep your data on your device:

- **Pool profiles and test logs** (pool volume, water test readings, notes) are stored locally on your device only. They are never uploaded to any server and we cannot access them.
- **Anonymous usage analytics** (Amplitude): we collect anonymized events such as "test logged" or "paywall shown" to understand which features are used. No personal information, no pool data, and no identifiers that can be traced back to you are collected.
- **Crash reports** (Sentry): if the App crashes, an anonymized technical report (device model, OS version, stack trace) is sent to help us fix bugs.

We do not collect names, email addresses, locations, contacts, photos, or advertising identifiers. The App has no account system.

## How We Use Information

- Usage analytics: to improve features and fix usability problems.
- Crash reports: to diagnose and fix bugs.

We do not sell or share any data with third parties for advertising or marketing.

## Data Storage

All pool and test data stays on your device. Deleting the App deletes this data. You can export your test log as CSV at any time; the export goes only where you choose to paste it.

- **Apple App Store / Google Play** (purchase processing): the one-time Pro purchase is processed entirely by the store. We never see your payment details.

## Your Rights

Because pool data never leaves your device, you have full control over it. To remove analytics/crash data associated with your device, contact us and we will request deletion from our providers.

## Data Security

Local data is protected by your device's built-in security. Analytics and crash data are transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS).

## Children's Privacy

The App does not target children and collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

## Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new "Last Updated" date.

## Data Retention

Your data in the app (entries, calculations, and settings) is stored solely on your device. It is never transmitted to or stored on our servers. This data is retained on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app, at which point it is permanently and irreversibly removed. We keep no backups of your personal data on any server.

The anonymous usage analytics and crash reports described above are retained by our service providers (Amplitude, Sentry) in accordance with their data-retention policies and contain no personal identifiers we could use to identify you.

Advertising-related data processed by Google AdMob is retained in accordance with Google's privacy policy; we do not receive or store it ourselves.
