Privacy Policy - Golf Tracer

Last Updated: October 17, 2026

Overview

Golf Tracer lets you add a ball-flight trace and shot information to your golf videos. Video editing and export run on your device. We use limited usage and diagnostic information to improve the app and fix problems.

Videos, Photos and Editing

Golf Tracer opens the video you choose through the system picker. Editing, draft storage and export happen on your device. The app does not upload your videos, photos, shot-card text or editing drafts to our analytics or error-reporting services. Exported videos are saved to your photo library. Your device's photo synchronization and backup settings may separately copy your files to services you use.

Usage Analytics

Amplitude receives app interaction events, such as opening the editor, changing editing controls, viewing the subscription screen and completing or failing an export. These events can include app and operating-system versions, device information, language, session information and whether Pro access is active. Amplitude uses an SDK device identifier to associate events from an installation. New installations of version 1.1.0 use a randomly generated identifier. An update can retain an identifier created by an earlier version, including one derived from the device vendor identifier. This is not your name, but it means the records are not completely anonymous.

Version 1.1.0 disables Amplitude's location listening, IP-address enrichment, geographic fields and new advertising/vendor identifier collection. Previously stored SDK device identifiers can remain in use as described above. Earlier versions used the SDK's default settings and may have sent these additional fields where available. Golf Tracer does not request location permission or use analytics for advertising or cross-app tracking. Network service providers necessarily receive connection information when the app connects to them.

Error Reports

Sentry receives diagnostic information, including error messages, stack traces, app and operating-system versions and device information. Reports may include technical identifiers and a sequence of technical events preceding an error. Screenshot attachments, view-hierarchy attachments and session replay are disabled. We do not intentionally include video content or shot-card text in error reports.

Purchases

Apple or Google processes purchases, subscriptions, renewals and refunds. The app communicates with the store to check and restore your entitlement and caches access status on your device. Analytics events include Pro status and purchase-flow activity. We do not receive your payment-card information. Existing lifetime purchases can still be restored.

Accounts, Advertising and Contact

Golf Tracer has no app account system and displays no advertising. We do not sell analytics or diagnostic data. If you email support, we receive the email address and information you choose to provide so we can respond.

Storage and Retention

Editing drafts, preferences and cached purchase status are stored on your device. Removing the app may remove its local data; operating-system backup or restore can retain or restore some data. Exported videos remain in your photo library until you remove them. Removing the app does not cancel a subscription or erase purchase records held by Apple or Google.

Analytics and diagnostic records are held by Amplitude and Sentry under the retention settings applicable to our projects. Deleting the app does not automatically delete records already sent to these services. Contact us about deletion or access requests; without an app account, we may need additional information to locate the relevant records. Please do not send payment-card details or private videos for this purpose.

Service Providers and Security

We use Amplitude for product analytics, Sentry for diagnostics, and Apple App Store or Google Play for billing. Analytics and diagnostic transmissions use encrypted HTTPS connections. These services process data under their own terms and privacy policies:
