# Privacy Policy - DBT Diary Card

## Overview

DBT Diary Card is an offline self-tracking app, developed by WittyApps. Everything you write — your emotions, urges, target behaviors, skills, medication, and notes — stays on your device. We collect a minimal amount of anonymous technical data to keep the app reliable, described below. Your diary content is never part of it.

## Your Diary Data Stays on Your Device

Your diary entries and settings are stored only on your phone, in the app's private storage. They are **never** uploaded to us or anyone else. There is no account and no sign-in. If you use the JSON backup feature, the backup is created on your device and you choose where it goes.

Because your entries can include sensitive mental-health information, we designed the app so that this information never reaches our servers or any third party. It is not collected, transmitted, sold, or shared.

## Information We Collect

- **Anonymous usage analytics** (via Amplitude): non-content events such as when a screen is opened, a PDF is previewed, or the Pro unlock screen is shown or purchased. These events never include your diary entries, notes, ratings, or any text you type.
- **Crash reports** (via Sentry): if the app crashes, technical details (device model, OS version, stack trace) are sent so we can fix the bug. Crash reports do not include your diary content.

No names, emails, or account identifiers exist in the app, so none are collected.

## How We Use Information

Anonymous usage events tell us which features matter so we can improve them. Crash reports tell us when something breaks so we can fix it. Nothing is used for advertising, profiling, or cross-app tracking, and data is never sold.

## Data Storage

Your diary entries, settings, and Pro purchase state are stored only on your device. Deleting the app removes them. Anonymous analytics and crash data are stored by our service providers (Amplitude, Sentry) under their own security policies.

## Third-Party Services

- **Amplitude** (anonymous product analytics — no diary content) — see Amplitude's privacy policy.
- **Sentry** (crash reporting — no diary content) — see Sentry's privacy policy.
- **Apple App Store / Google Play** (in-app purchase) — payment is processed entirely by Apple or Google; we never see your payment information.

## Crisis Resources

The app links to public crisis resources (such as the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline). Choosing to call or text places a call or message through your own phone; we are not involved and receive no information about it.

## Your Rights

Your diary data lives only on your device, fully under your control — you can view, edit, export, or delete it at any time. The analytics and crash data we receive are anonymous and cannot be tied back to you, so there is no personal profile for us to access, correct, or export. If you have any concern, contact us and we will help.

## Data Security

Diary entries never leave your device. Anonymous analytics and crash data are transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). You can add a PIN and biometric lock in Settings, and the app hides its contents from the system app-switcher when locked.

## Children's Privacy

The app is a general self-tracking tool and collects no personal data from anyone, including children under 13.

## Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last Updated" date.

## Data Retention

Your diary entries, skills-log data, and settings are stored solely on your device. They are never transmitted to or stored on our servers. This data is retained on your device until you delete individual entries or uninstall the app, at which point it is permanently and irreversibly removed. We keep no backups of your personal data on any server.

The anonymous usage analytics described above are retained by our analytics provider (Amplitude) in accordance with their data-retention policy and contain no diary content or personal identifiers.
