Privacy Policy - Row Counter: Knit & Crochet

Overview

Row Counter: Knit & Crochet ("the App") is developed by WittyApps. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles, which service providers receive it, how long it is kept and how you can control it.

Information We Collect

The App does not require an account. Your knitting and crochet projects and row counters are stored only on your device and are never sent to us.

If you choose to export your project data (for example as a JSON file), the export is started by you and the file stays under your control; we do not receive a copy.

The App sends the following limited data to the service providers listed below:

• Amplitude (product analytics). Purpose: to understand which features are used and where people get stuck. Data sent: app interaction events (for example counting rows or completing a count, opening the Remove Ads screen, purchase results and ad-consent status), session start and end, app and operating-system version, device model, language, whether ads have been removed, and an installation identifier generated by the analytics SDK (on iOS, the identifier for vendor). On Android, the analytics SDK may also read the device advertising ID if it is available and not restricted in your device settings. Amplitude also receives and stores the IP address of the connection and uses it to estimate an approximate country, region or city. Not sent: project names, notes or counter values. • Sentry (crash and error reporting). Purpose: to find and fix crashes and errors. Data sent when an error occurs: error message, stack trace, device model, operating-system and app version, and the IP address of the connection (used to deliver the report, not to identify you). • Google AdMob (advertising). Purpose: to show and measure ads in the free version of the App. Where required by law (for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland), the App asks for your consent through Google's User Messaging Platform before ads are requested, and only requests ads when Google reports that it may do so. Data collected by Google: advertising identifier (Android advertising ID; on iOS, the advertising identifier only if you allow tracking in the iOS system prompt), device information, IP address and approximate location derived from it, and ad interactions. • Apple App Store / Google Play (payments). Purchases are processed by Apple or Google. We do not receive your card or other payment details.

We do not collect your name, email address, contacts or precise (GPS) location.

How We Use Information

Analytics show us which features are used; crash reports show us when something breaks; advertising data is used by Google to serve and measure ads in the free version. We do not sell your data.

Data Retention and Deletion

• Data on your device: kept until you delete it or uninstall the App, at which point it is removed. We keep no copy on any server.
• Amplitude analytics events: stored in our Amplitude project for as long as the project is active, without an automatic expiry. When we no longer need the data we delete the project, and we delete the events for your installation within 30 days of a request (see Your Choices).
• Sentry error reports: deleted automatically by Sentry after its retention period, at most 90 days.
• Google AdMob advertising data: retained and deleted by Google as described at https://policies.google.com/technologies/retention. We do not receive or store it.
