Privacy Policy - Dive Log

Overview

Dive Log ("the App") is a personal scuba diving logbook developed by WittyApps. This policy explains what data the App handles, who receives it and how long it is kept.

Your Dive Data Stays on Your Device

All of your dive logs (depths, times, sites, gas mixes, buddies, notes, ratings and any photos you attach) are stored on your device. We do not have a server, the App does not require an account, and we never upload, sell or share your dive records. You can export your logbook to CSV at any time.

Photos

If you attach a photo to a dive, the App accesses your photo library only to let you pick that image. Selected photos are stored with the dive on your device and are not transmitted to us.

Analytics and Diagnostics

• Amplitude (product analytics). Purpose: to understand which features are used and where people get stuck. Data sent: app interaction events (for example saving a dive, tapping actions, review prompts and purchase results; only categorical values are sent), session start and end, app and operating-system version, device model, language, whether Pro is unlocked, and an installation identifier generated by the analytics SDK (on iOS, the identifier for vendor). Amplitude also receives and stores the IP address of the connection and uses it to estimate an approximate country, region or city. Not sent: your dive records, photos, site names, buddies or notes. • Sentry (crash and error reporting). Purpose: to find and fix crashes and errors. Data sent when an error occurs: error message, stack trace, device model, operating-system and app version, and the IP address of the connection (used to deliver the report, not to identify you). Sentry also receives performance traces for a random sample (about 20%) of monitored operations such as app start: timing data with the same device, operating-system and app version information, used to find and fix slow parts of the App. Traces contain no dive log content. • Apple App Store / Google Play (payments). Purchases are processed by Apple or Google. We do not receive your card or other payment details.

What We Do Not Do

• No account, no login.
• No advertising or ad tracking.
• No selling or sharing of personal data.
• No transmission of your dive logbook off your device.

Data Retention and Deletion

• Dive logs, photos and settings: stored on your device until you delete them or uninstall the App. We keep no backups on any server.
• Amplitude analytics events: stored in our Amplitude project for as long as the project is active, without an automatic expiry. When we no longer need the data we delete the project, and we delete the events for your installation within 30 days of a request (see Your Choices).
