Privacy Policy - CP12 Gas Certificates

Overview

CP12 Gas Certificates is an app for UK registered gas engineers to produce landlord gas safety records, warning notices, and boiler service records on their phone, developed by WittyApps. The records you create — including any landlord, tenant, or property details you enter — stay on your device. We collect a minimal amount of anonymous data to keep the app reliable, described below.

Information We Collect

• Anonymous usage analytics (via Amplitude): which screens are opened and whether the Pro unlock screen is shown or purchased. No names, emails, or account identifiers exist in the app, so none are collected. Your record contents are never sent.
• Crash reports (via Sentry): if the app crashes, technical details (device model, OS version, stack trace) are sent so we can fix the bug. Record contents are not included.

We do NOT collect the details you type into records, your location, contacts, photos, or any personally identifying information. There are no accounts and no advertising.

Your Record Data Stays On Your Phone

Records are stored only on your device, encrypted at rest (AES-256; the key is held in the iOS Keychain / Android Keystore). They are never uploaded to us or to any third party. Backups you create are plain zip files written wherever you choose to save or share them — you control where they go. Deleting the app removes the records stored on the device.

How We Use Information

Usage analytics tell us which features matter so we can improve them. Crash reports tell us when something breaks so we can fix it. Nothing is used for advertising, profiling, or cross-app tracking, and data is never sold.

Third-Party Services

• Amplitude (anonymous product analytics) — see Amplitude's privacy policy.
• Sentry (crash reporting) — see Sentry's privacy policy.
• Apple App Store / Google Play (in-app purchase) — payment is processed entirely by Apple or Google; we never see your payment information.

Your Rights

Analytics data is anonymous and cannot be tied back to you, which means there is no personal profile for us to access, correct, or export. The record data you enter is yours and remains under your control on your device. If you have any concern, contact us and we will help.

Data Security

Record contents never leave your device and are encrypted at rest. Analytics and crash data are transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS).
