Overview

Machinist Calc is an offline machining calculator and reference app developed by WittyApps. Calculations and saved preferences stay on your device. We collect a minimal amount of anonymous technical and usage data to operate and improve the app.

Information We Collect

• Anonymous product analytics (via Amplitude): events such as which calculators or charts are opened and whether a subscription screen or purchase action is used. The app has no user account and does not send names, email addresses, machining inputs, or saved values to Amplitude.
• Crash and diagnostic data (via Sentry): technical information such as app version, device model, operating-system version, session status, stack traces, and related diagnostics when an error occurs.
• Purchase status (via Apple App Store or Google Play): the store returns a product identifier and purchase status so the app can unlock Pro. WittyApps does not receive your payment-card or billing details.

We do not collect your machining dimensions, materials, speeds, feeds, tolerances, location, contacts, photos, or advertising identifiers. The app has no advertising and does not use data for cross-app tracking.

How We Use Information

Anonymous analytics help us understand which tools are useful. Crash and diagnostic data help us find and fix reliability problems. Purchase status is used only to provide and restore Pro access. We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising or profiling.

Data Storage

Calculator preferences, favorites, onboarding status, and the local Pro entitlement cache are stored on your device. WittyApps does not keep a server copy of these values. Apple or Google manages the authoritative subscription record.

Data Retention

On-device data remains until you clear it or uninstall the app. Anonymous analytics and diagnostic records are retained by Amplitude and Sentry under their standard retention and security policies for only as long as needed to analyze product use and reliability, after which they are deleted or aggregated. Store purchase records are retained by Apple or Google under their respective policies and legal obligations.

Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy and security practices.
